Last Saturday’s baptism was an awesome experience! Fifteen new believers celebrated their faith publically, surrounded by their loving (and cheering!) church family. Each person who was baptized has a special story. The GAP story of the week focuses on three of the men who were baptized. We met these men through our GAP ministry inside the CSC. They have each met Christ and last weekend they publicly declared their relationship with Him. One of the men spoke about how The Bridge made him and his family feel welcome and not judged. Another embraced the pastor who baptized him so long that it made us cry. Another actually took the microphone and told us of his lengthy time in prison. While in “the hole,” he had a roommate who was in prison for life. This roommate is the one who led him to Christ and gave him a Bible. When our friend was released, he lived at the CSC where he met the GAP and Bridge folks. Do you think God has a plan here?!
GAP is all about reaching out to people who are hurting, lost or broken, helping them with needs, forming a relationship with them, and leading them into the Kingdom. There are many ways to serve in our GAP ministry. For more information, please call 573-518-1131 or e-mail yourgap@yahoo.com.
